It was a beautiful morning on November 11th for the Allure of the Seas grand entrance into her new home port, Port Everglades, Florida. There were fireboats, helicopters, and lots of news media covering the event.

Alaska on the Navigator
My brother was called back to work for a week to fill in for the Cruise Director on the Regent Seven Seas Navigator, who had a family emergency. Jamie joined the ship yesterday and will be sailing southbound from Seward to Vancouver, always a nice voyage. I haven't been to Alaska for a while, but I sure wish I was on board to escape this Miami heat!

My brother just called from Bora Bora.....
I don't know where this month has gone! I have been neglecting my blog updates.
My brother called this morning from Bora Bora. It was 6:30 am there and a beautiful day. He was going to go ashore later and visit the famous "Bloody Mary's", which is always a good time. Bloody Mary's just celebrated their 50th anniversary, and Jimmy Buffet was there playing for two days. Forget Key West! Jimmy knows where to find the real Cheeseburger in Paradise!
The world cruise got off to a great start in San Diego. Jay Leno performed for an hour, and never missed a beat! He was fabulous! No mention was made of the ongoing late-night saga playing out at NBC. Then the Beach Boys performed and they were outstanding as well.
The weather has been good, with the exception of Moorea, yesterday, where there were some tropical rains. The ship was able to make her call at Nuku Hiva this time, so all of the guests were happy about that. The seas have been calm, the weather good, and there are a lot of happy world cruisers on board.

Happy New Year!!!
Happy New Year!!!
2009 has not been a very good year for me and so many others. As we ring in 2010, I am optimistic for greener pastures in the future! I wish everyone Health, Hope and Prosperity for the new year, and new decade!

Nor'easter
Well, our weather in South Florida has finally cooled down. I hope it lasts a while. The Northeast is sure taking a pounding, and the airports are in chaos. I feel sorry for all of those who can't get home from their vacation, and the many people that will miss their ship's departure due to canceled flights. A big reason you should ALWAYS purchase travel insurance when cruising. The weather can play a cruel trick, especially on an overpriced Christmas Cruise.

A job on the horizon?
After months of searching, I finally have a job interview on Monday with a cruise line! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get this one, because I could sure use a paycheck! I'll keep you posted!
